Founder and former CEO of Apple Steve Jobs has died after a seven-year battle with cancer. He was 56.

The hard-driving executive pioneered the concept of the personal computer and of navigating them by clicking onscreen images with a mouse. In more recent years, he introduced the iPod portable music player, the iPhone and the iPad tablet — all of which changed how we consume content in the digital age.

More than one pundit, praising Jobs’ ability to transform entire industries with his inventions, called him a modern-day Leonardo Da Vinci.

“Steve Jobs is one of the great innovators in the history of modern capitalism,” New York Times columnist Joe Nocera said in August. “His intuition has been phenomenal over the years.”

Jobs’ death, while dreaded by Apple’s legions of fans, was not unexpected. He had battled cancer for years, took a medical leave from Apple in January and stepped down as chief executive in August because he could “no longer meet (his) duties and expectations.”

We don’t consider ourselves sneakerheads by any stretch of the imagination, but we have been known to indulge in a few extra unnecessary pairs of kicks simply because they looked good. We’ve been waiting a long time for the “digital sketchpad” to become reality — and as cool as tablets are, they haven’t really been able to nail it. But the Wacom Inkling ($200) looks like it has. Jil Sander’s bright Memphis 999 shoes are pictured here in black and vivid pink, admittedly not everyone’s go-to colorway, but still a pick that isn’t without merit. Think pop art, avant garde, fresh designers, street art, London, funky suits, and conversation-worthy hats, and your mind will start whirling with styling options.

The Jil Sander’s Memphis 999 shoe is a sight to behold, with its thin laces and generally formal shape… plus pink! Oki-Ni describes these must-look shoes:

Consistently reinventing their collection of watches for the better, Diesel has a new collection of watches affectionately (and appropriately) titled the Super Bad Ass collection. The DZ7221 (silver with metal bracelet) and DZ7127 (black on blue on black leather band) are our two favorites from the collection because of their vintage aircraft gauge appearance. With their size (65mm x 57mm) and the fact they have seven different dials (one digital), doubling as gauges might have been a possibility during the design phase. Since that didn’t happen though, you get to put this excellent monstrosity exactly where it belongs – on your wrist. If you’re looking to go big in the watch department, go Diesel Super Bad Ass or just go home.

We make no bones about the fact that there are a lot of speakers that can easily be classified as cool material. Some of them do double duty as headphones and speakers. Some of them wirelessly receive audio. Some of them are so far out of the box it’s hard not to call them ridiculous. And some, like these Acoustic Lab Zeta 2.0s are downright sexy. That’s right, we just called speakers sexy. The one piece pressure-vessel forms were designed by Dutch industrial designer Garbrand van der Molen to be visually enthralling and reduce vibration, sound radiation and distortion. Then they were packed with a completely linear sound system developed by renowned Danish audio engineer Christian M Andersen. They look as good (if not better) than they sound.
